His Tender Mercy
The mind which created the universe, also counted your hair and cared for the next meal of a sparrow. Big or tiny, His tender mercies are over all His works!

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.
(Psalms 145:9)
Many years ago, due to a severe car accident, my dad was in coma for many days. Because of God’s great mercy, the Lord saved him from this death attack of the enemy. That’s the story of how our God works in mighty ways to save my father from eternal death. I shared that story with you in another post, and today I wanted to share another story with you about our God Father’s tender heart towards His children.
For many years, due to that damage to my father’s brain, my dad suffers memory lost and the lost of the sharpness of his mind. Every time, when I call him and want to talk to him, he only respond very briefly then he will fall back to sleep. His situation reminded me the King Théoden in the Lord of the Rings film, who physically weakened and mentally under a “spell” of bondage. For months and years, the family members cried out to the Lord for the healing of his brain. But we see almost no improvement, three years passed, the hope is fading. For an old man who is at his 90 years old, you may think, will God really care?
But, because of His great love towards His children, our Heavenly Father decided to show his mercy again. On February 7, before I goes to bed, the Holy Spirit prompt me to mediate on God’s love. I lay on my bed, I thought of Jesus’s crucification, his agony in the garden, his kind heart and forgiveness towards those who were mocking and killing Him. My eyes full of tears, before I could remember anything else, I prayed: “Father God, please let me experience your love”. Then I fell asleep.
That night, I had a dream. In the dream, I was hanging out with my father, talking and laughing. He is just at his mid-age, and we were talking and he was smiling. We had a great time. When I woke up, I said, God, thank you so much! Even it was a dream. I am so grateful that you let me experience your love from my earthly father, even it’s just a dream. I told this to my wife, and we were so grateful!
If the story ended here, that will be enough to know Father’s love towards His children. But, the story did not end there. That evening, I made a video call with my brother who is taking care of my father. For the first time, in the past 3 years, my dad is HAVING CONVERSATIONS WITH me. Nothing big, just chatting! We even joked a little. Just like what happed in the dream. My heart was filled with joy!
After that call, I praised the Lord for what he did to me and gave thanks for what he did to my father. It’s such a healing experience to my soul. My beloved, if there is anything that can change our evil hearts, that’s God’s love and His mercy. The revelation of His heart to us will change our heart. We read the Bible and know “in our head” that God loves us because Jesus had died for us on the cross. But we do need revelation from Lord Holy Spirit to bring His love into our souls. Our Heavenly Father indeed demonstrated His love through our Lord’s crucifixion, but this time, He chooses to do so through a small thing in our daily life- - an unexpected way of answer for an answered prayer, a TENDER MERCY towards a 90-year-old man, a thoughtful loving heart toward a man WHO LONGS TO TALK to his earthly father!
Thus, I praise you Father God, for your tender mercy. I love you father! I love you Father! And I praise you Lord Jesus, without your suffering, my dad could not be healed! You are the tender mercy, and through you, our God gives us light, life and peace.
Through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (Luke 1:78-79)
